By using ORN Gateway or by opting in to receive messages from us on WhatsApp, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
ORN Gateway is a structured portal for UPSC Mains answer-writing practice, where aspirants upload handwritten answer copies, receive faculty-evaluated scripts with scores and feedback, and track each test from open to result. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information processed through the platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide and information generated when you use the platform:
Information you provide
- Account & identity details: name, email address, mobile/WhatsApp number, and login credentials.
- Submissions: question papers and handwritten answer copies (PDFs or images) that you upload for evaluation.
- Communications: messages, support tickets, and replies you send to us, including over WhatsApp.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & evaluation data: test status, scores, percentiles, feedback, and activity within the portal.
- Device & log data: IP address, browser type, and timestamps used for security and to keep the service running.
- Messaging metadata: delivery and read status of WhatsApp messages we send, returned to us by Meta.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate logins.
- Receive your answer copies, route them to faculty, and return evaluated scripts.
- Send transactional and service notifications — for example, when a test is scheduled, when your evaluation is complete, and when your result is ready — by email and WhatsApp.
- Provide performance analytics, model solutions, and topper copies.
- Respond to your support requests and communications.
- Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the platform.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. WhatsApp Business Messaging
We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API), provided by Meta, to send you account- and test-related notifications. When we message you on WhatsApp:
- We use your mobile number only to deliver messages relevant to your use of ORN Gateway, such as test schedules, submission confirmations, evaluation updates, results, and one-time passcodes.
- Message content and delivery is processed by Meta in accordance with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell your WhatsApp number, and we do not use it to send unsolicited marketing without your consent.
Note:WhatsApp messages are delivered through Meta’s infrastructure. By opting in, you acknowledge that your phone number and message content are processed by Meta as a service provider to enable delivery. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
5. Opt-In & Opt-Out
We send WhatsApp messages only after you have opted in — for example, by providing your WhatsApp number during registration and agreeing to receive notifications, or by messaging us first.
You can opt out at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any of our WhatsApp messages;
- Updating your notification preferences in your account settings; or
- Contacting us at support@orngateway.com.
After you opt out, we will stop sending WhatsApp notifications. Essential service emails may still be sent where required to operate your account.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and authentication — to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incidents.
